Penang, 30 Mac 2010 - Penang, 30 Mac 2010 - A workshop entitled 'Theory and Application on Endnote' was held in IPharm and attended by over 20 technical staff members and graduate students. This workshop is part of IPharm's in house series of workshops designed to enhance R&D prowess. Dr. Tan Mei Lan, IPharm's director of the Lead Optimization Division facilitated the workshop, covering topics such as the versatility of Endnote in managing scientific references and its subsequent use as a reference management tool in scientific writing
| Chinese New Year Dinner Celebration 2010

Penang, 18 Mac 2010 - Chinese New Year is one of the most important festivals in the Chinese lunar calendar. Family reunion was the main theme for this event, in line with our 1 IPharm concept. For this event, various divisions of IPharm actually worked together to prepare a get together dinner, which further foster the family spirit. A gotong-royong to cook-up a storm of sumptuous dishes together with collective efforts to decorate our labs with brilliant red hanging lanterns and cloths were accompanied by popular CNY tunes.
This joyous ceremony was officiated by Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohamed Isa and Prof. Madya Dr. Alexander with a loud ‘bang’ of giant fireworks poppers. The dinner started with ‘yee sang’ tossing. Everyone at the table stood up enthusiastically and proceeded to toss the shredded ingredients into the air with chopsticks while saying various "auspicious wishes" out loud. Everyone then queued to check out the many types of dishes, ranging from an authentic Arab Briyani rice to Johor Chinese Laksa! Besides the usual makan, there was a lucky draw event, which was spiced up with antics and usual leg pulling among IPHARM citizens!
